    Lay them on newspaper in the garage & spray them with oven cleaner. Let set & then wash them.

    Buy spray oven cleaner, take the wires outside and spray the down. Let them sit all night, and scrub off the next day. Re-apply if needed. You can buy non aromatic spray and do it in the bathtub/shower if you prefer.

    Put them in the oven on clean cycle

      Putting the racks in the Clean cycle turns them dark. And your manual should recommend you take them out.

    I take them outside, put them in the sun on top of newspaper and spray both sides with Easy Off. Let set, and if real dirty give them a second spray. Then I put each one in the sink and scrub it with a Brillo pad.
