Where's the Cake?

Well I headed to our local dollar store, and what do I find a cake carrier for $1. I'm thinking who could I give this to and they may feel obligated to bake a cake and share it with me.
I found a lace doily. I'm thinking why not attach the doily to the cake carrier. I will just spray paint it. Not so fast.I needed to trim the doily, and tape it in place, oh yeah and mask it off. I think I used more painters tape on this cake carrier than I used painting the bathroom. Let me show you.
I had gold spray paint I decided to use, so I took my cardboard screens to protect my siding, which have many shades of color from over spray from other projects.
First coat then second coat. This is where my challenge went wrong. We were supposed to use only paint. It needed something. So, here comes the flowers and ribbon for the handle.
The finished project all ready to be used! Now, to find baker for that cake.

I use these cake carriers for my coconut cream pies as a regular pie carrier isn tall enough for the meringue. This is a great idea to dress them up.
