My daughter deco podged maps to to top of an end table, then put several coats of poly urethane over the top. Turned out very nice. You could use any type of paper you like.

I have an old milk can i put a round top on to make an end table. I have an old fashioned toilet [the kind where the top covers the pot] as an end table. I have a small Sun round wood stove i use as an and table. I also have a small wine keg that i added a round top on. Just about anything can be used to make an end table just have to use some thinking on how to keep the top on. I used small pieces of wood that i cut to fit inside and allached the to hold the tops on the milk can and keg.
I got some of those old octagonal end tables for free, and I painted them in blues,purple and lime green paisley for the Boys and Girls Club lounge.

You can paint, sand down & restain or both. Paint legs & up around to bottom of top & stain the top.
