If you are thinking of use in a shower it should not be used there due to the harsh cleansers required for cleaning showers generally. If it is for a boat I would think the same thing, not recommended for the same reason plus it is not tolerant of high temperatures which may happen in warm subtropical areas or extreme cold in temperate zones.
