In order to provide an answer one would need to know what the white spots are from. Wood spots normally are water drips that have caused the wood to whiten as it dries. To fix that you need to polish the wood with compound and a little wax. On vinyl water can also cause a spot, but should be easily removed using most bathroom cleaners. However white spots on vinyl as well as wood can be caused by many things. Water is just one of them.

Can you tell me how long the spots have been there, size of spots and cause of spots. Are the wood floors real wood or an appliqu? What stain or wax do you have on wood or vinyl floors? And the cure is probably different for wood and vinyl, so please be specific.
