Mandevilla vines are tropical plants. They need a sunny window in a warm room. Not a cold basement. They might be prone to attracting pests like spider mites, aphids or mealy bugs, so check the leaves often. you can trim the vines back so it will be more manageable, in spring it will grow back. I'm not sure if they need to be fed in winter, but I'd give it some now before the growth slows too drastically. It will provide a little health insurance over the winter indoor stress. Hello I live in Mo and we have sucessfully kept Mandevillas in basement over winter we cut them back about 1/2 way only water to keep them from drying out keep them off floor. Ours are near a window late afternoon sun due to deck & as the weather warms I start watering again. As soon as warm enough outsde they went took a little longer to bloom but now beautiful. Also keep Norfolk Islnad Pine same way its 6 yrs old. These are so expensive to buy new each year. I never have had a bug problem, if they don't have bugs when outside they won't have them insde.

tap fon frount Yes you can! I kept mine for a few years in the basement. I cut them back about 2/3's covered them with brown paper bag, snuggley, and water very lightly. In Feb. I brought them out in front of windows, continued watering, and they started growing again. I had mine in hugh pots, and could no longer take them in and out, so had to let the go.
