Metal Shed in back yard redo? Is it safe or doable?

Have metal shed in yard from the 70's, thinking of cutting off two sides and making it into a covered open patio is this possible or will the wind just blow it down? Will leave the vertical corners and the frame under the roof across the open area.

I'd have to know more about the quality of the construction to answer this Serena. Can you share a couple photos of the inside and outside? We put up a small metal shed in our last homes backyard and it almost blew apart as we were building it and the wind wasn't even that bad. That was in the early nineties so the quality may not have been what it was in the 70's.

You could if you add framing to support it.

they are just those flimsy light weight tin ones from the late 70's. Only nice thing about them is them have concrete floors. Really just wanting to make them a little more user friendly.

@Serena Shields Without photos it's really hard to say, but @Adrianne's idea of adding extra framing is a very good idea.

i also agree with the Becky and Serena, always be safe ... it sounds like a great ideal to double up on the framing....you can always add canopy around the edges later ..
