mold and mildew may take repeated treatments before they are gone for good. for them to survive they food and dark. bleach will not kill the mild spores but the mold it's self. a vinegar solution will kill spores.

I think the best way to get rid of mold is with bleach water. You can then paint on some Kilz. That will stop mold from recurring. Hope this helps you.

I was told bleach will not kill the spores, but that is only a problem if the spores are spread before the bleach is applied. In other words, if the material is such that the bleach can penetrate all the way to where the mold stops it will kill what is there. If any more appears it will not originate in the same spot. I have bleached many kinds of solid would with great success. If both sides of the wood cannot be accessed it might not work. Now if the mold is on something other than wood, you might not be able to stop it. Also, you do not say whether you're talking about mold on wood, furniture, plastic, drywall, dishes, live pants, in the soil, concrete, ceiling, etc, etc... Those possiblities can open a whole new can of mushrooms. ;)
