I was at a craft fair and they made it look like the real thing. I asked how, but they wouldn't tell me.

Vinegar will stain wood but I'm not sure it would be grey but it will definitely look old. I am positive you will find your solution on Pinterest. Try searching with different words. Start with "new wood to old look".
