What are some tips to growing sweet corn?

I have done sweet corn the past few years and can't get them to produce good quality ears of corn, just wondering what tips other people had.

Sometimes kernels don't form if there is not good pollination. To help get pollen to the silks, plant several short rows instead of one long row. Wind will carry pollen to the downwind rows and you get more mature kernels on each ear. This may not solve your problem, but sometimes it helps.
Be sure to buy non-gmo seed for sweet corn.
