Marble will be very heavy when removed! Do you want to remove in one piece? It would take Two Strong folk to move it! You would need to Leaver it off the wall with a Crow bar and could be very messy. In the process it could break........
could you put the stone over the marble?
First, if you have wood flooring, cover with 2-3 layers of cardboard. Tape each layer individually to the layer below. Second, start at top and break small sections at a time. Remove it slowly and methodically. Use a wheel barrow or large trash can on hand truck. If doing this alone, only fill trash can/wheelbarrow to what you can comfortably lift by yourself. Wear eye protection and hand/arm protection. if you are a DIY'er you can most certainly do this. Just take your time and stick with it.
