not sure how much you are looking to add but sequins, pearls and seashells came to mind. You could also get a decal of a mermaid (looks like it is etched)
It looks really nice as it is now. Don't go for too much. Keep it simple.
Using E6000 or Liquid Nails you can apply any embellishment you wish.
If you are going to add mermaid embellishments, you may also want to add some metallic (gold, silver, blue, green) accents! I have this same mirror and my granddaughter would love it done up like that. Please post when finished.
I agree that it looks good as is, but if you want a mermaid embellishment, a string of pearl garland bordering the beaded detail would look nice. You could even use a glue gun if you're careful not to over-apply the glue.
