How can I get rid of Southern thorny vine, Similax?

Does anyone know how I can get rid of this terrible creeping, thorny vine? Round up doesn't get it!!! HELP!!!

Cut the vine as much as you can and providing there is nothing else around it try Brush B Gone by Ortho
Dig up the roots- which grows very large . we have a burn barrel and we burn the roots.
agree on cutting it back as best you can. See if you can get your hands on a product called Crossbow. It's not cheap but it works on anything that has a woody vine-like invasive plant in it's tracks! Good luck!
