June bugs are the full grown bug that comes from grubs. Grubs are the large white larvae that eat the roots of your grass.
Here is an article for you - http://www.terro.com/articles/get-rid-of-june-bugs
They are gross, that is what they are... They are just bugs that come out in the summer months, and apparently there is more than one species that people tend to call June bugs. They don't bite, and don't tend to really do any damage.
Cigarette smoke leaves an oily residue everywhere on everything. If the surface can tolerate water you can wash with Simple Green. There are treated sponges/erasers that can be used for smoke damage on wall paper and lamp shades. The ceiling should be primed with oil based primer and painted. Cigarette tar will bleed through most paints if used alone.
Sorry, wrong thread.
Yes, they are the adult beetle form of a species grubs (larvae) found in the soil below the turf. If you are swarmed with them this year, use a pesticide next year that will kill grubs (please use Bayer, not a Monsanto product). If you are not grossed out, these guys actually have a place in the food chain for a lot of species. Even dogs will eat them. People do, too, in other countries.
