I've had really great luck by heating a solution of water and vinegar, then wiping it down when everything is loosened up. i use about 1 1/2 cup of water and 1/2cup of vinegar, set it in the microwave in a glass container for 5 minutes on high. Be careful- remove using oven mitts, it gets really steamy hot!

I clean the inside of my microwave with blue Dawn dishwashing detergent. I get a thick cotton cloth or old terry washcloth saturated with warm soapy water, remove the tray and turntable from the oven and give all surfaces top, bottom and sides a good scrubbing. If there are areas where metal seams are joinedleaving room for food to get stuck, I used a toothpick to clean those areas. Rinse well with a cloth and warm water and leave the door open to allow it to air dry. I put my tray and turntable into the dishwasher to give them an extra good cleaning.

I put in a mug of water on high for 2 minutes max, sometimes adding cheap bottled lemon juice. I carefully remove the mug and wipe the ceiling, walls and floor with a cloth. I put the turntable and ring in the dishwasher.

Put a large coffee cup almost full of water in the microwave. Cook it on High for five minutes. When the five minutes are up, don't open the microwave...just let it sit for 15-30 minutes so it causes condensation inside the microwave. You can then just wipe out the inside with paper towels, and the previously dried-on food will easily come off.
