Ferns
What zone and region do you live in? Does the area get any light? You could try hosts, asparagus fern, wandering Jew, they all do well in my 9B zone, in dappled shade and except for the hosts are drought tolerant
It depends where you live. I would ask the garden pro at your local nursery or home improvement store for suggestions since they only stock items guaranteed to grow in your region.
I like hostas. They are hardy and prefer shade. They come in many shades of green and a lot of different sizes.
I love the use of hostas in shady areas.
