Dig a hole for the plant making sure it's wider and deeper than the existing planting. Amend soil as needed. Dig around the plant at LEAST 8" from the visible root ball. Dig deep the whole way around it to gradually 'lift' the plant from the ground. When you plant it keep in mind that the soil will settle, plant going with the soil, so you have to make sure the crown doesn't sink below the surface level. As you're setting the plant and adding soil, work into the roots and lightly tamp as you go. Feed and water thoroughly. Good luck!
