You could do rocks and make a nice rock garden, that way you aren't dealing with any grass or lots of upkeep. There are plants you can place in rock gardens, or you could just do potted plants to avoid putting anything in the ground at all. Here are some links to help:

It's unlikely that you could grow a manicured lawn in the sand and pine shade anyway, so why not go natural? Plant sea grass like saltgrass or whatever is indigenous. Form neat flowerbeds with bricks, stone, railway ties, shells--whatever goes with your house and style. If you keep decorative flowers within borders, it will take much less water, weeding and protection. Best wishes 😇
