How do I keep my knockout roses blooming all season?

I feed them and deadhead them, but they just get longer branches with fewer blooms.

    You are using a fertilizer with to much nitrogen and not enough phosphorus

    i manually pick off blooms regularly to promote more blooms, besides cutting them back once a year as the instructions say to do, fertilize them with knockout rose fertilizer, works best, water regularly and other than that knockouts are some of the easiest rose varieties to grow!
