If it's vinyl you can just use regular paint and seal it afterwards

Mine is over three years old. I also did my kitchen.

    1. You need to strip off any wax, oil or cleaner. I gave mine a good cleaning with vinegar, soap and water, then rinsed and let dry. You could also use TSP, and rinse.
    2. Prime it with a good primer, this is necessary as paint will not adhere to vinyl long term. I used Zinsser B-I-N (red label) shellac-based primer. It is made to stick to plasticy materials. It dries in 45 minutes.
    3. I topcoated with 2 coats of acrylic porch and floor paint. I followed the directions for recoating, and used floor fans to speed the drying process.
    4. I put 2 or 3 coats of BM Stays Clear.
    5. Let it cure, in the mean time when it was dry to the touch, we walked on it with white socks, and wiped up water from the shower.

How is it holding up? My original plan was to add a top coat of Stays Clear every year I didn't. Although it still looks better than the original floor, I wouldn't recommend solid white as it shows every little mark. I plan on stencilling a pattern over it. It is still holding up in terms of no peeling or scratches or cracking.. One little part cracked, but that was due to a weakness under the paint. It was an easy repair. It is like painting a porch, it needs a new coat every so many years to freshen it up, or clear coating. Don't be afraid to do it. A bathroom is usually small and will probably require very little paint.
