Heirloom Traditions Chalk Paint Table for the Front Porch

I had a little Bombay Company table that I couldn't find a place for in my home. Then I began reading how chalk paint could work in some outdoor situations. I had just received a new chalk paint color called Cobblestone part of the Heritage Collection from Heirloom Traditions in the mail and I was itching to give it a try. icon

It is the perfect gray chalk paint color for me. I love how smooth it feels, too.

Quite some time ago, I painted this table with Annie Sloan Old White. It had began to show a shabby side and not a "shabby chic" side so I decided to refresh it with a new color.

I used Heritage Collection Chalk Paint in Cobblestone.

When I paint a small piece of furniture, I like to raise it to my level.

This project went quickly. I used a brush and it was easy to get the paint in the grooves.

I did 2 coats and intended to do three but I liked the Old White peeking through. I can always add another coat and sand later on.

It is one of those quick gratification projects. Goes on like a dream and dries quickly and feels super smooth when dry.

Perfect for the porch!

I hope you give this color a try. I am so glad that I did.

And with the leftover paint, I am even transforming some bar stools. This bar stool was black and brown and then many years ago, I spray painted it turquoise. I never loved it and left the other three barstools black and brown. Now, I think I have found my color for them.

It only has two coats and needs one more but it looks so much better already. And I have a fabric technique to try on this new chalk paint... Stay tuned...

I want to top the table with a fabric treatment. I have two choices that I am considering. Thoughts? ... here is one ...

I think the one on the right might work better on a rectangular piece than a circle.

The table turned out beautiful, but honorable mention should be made to the three bottles tied together with what looks like twine. I like it, I like it a lot.

  Thank you! They were a clearance item from Michaels. They are permanently attached together. Two had corks pushed inside and the third bottle was missing a cork. I asked how much it would be because of the missing cork and when the guy said 99 cents, I was like "Sold!" I love a good photo prop bargain. It would be a cool diy though... (Wheels are turning...)
