    This site will help.

Use an effective castor oil-based repellent to drive armadillos out and to prevent them from digging for food on your property. Castor oil is an all-natural oil that penetrates the ground, and repels armadillos in two ways: spoils the food sources (insects, grubs, etc.) underground, making them unpleasant to eat.

Armadillos eat insects. Rid your yard of grubs and other bugs and they will not return. I tried everything under the sun and it wasn't until I treated my flower beds that they didn't return. No need to harm the animals this way.

Hello Hsspann :) Well, I remember over 40 years ago when I lived "down south" in an apartment that had a hole in the bedroom floor that the landlord refused to repair, and every once in awhile my husband and I could watch an armadillo underneath the floor digging for whatever was there to eat (I'm sure it couldn't have been for the fire ants that eventually made their way into the bedroom!) I wish I would have known THEN what I know now LOL. Here are some links that might help YOU get rid of the Armadillos that are coming into your yard:

and what should you do with an armadillo when you DO catch one live?

" ... After trapping an armadillo, you should contact an authorized wildlife control personnel to euthanize or relocate it if it is legal in your state. He can relocate it to a place with lots of water and food so that it does not find its way back to your yard. What to do when you DO trap a live armadillo:

The animals love hiding, so the best place to relocate it should be with some brush and bushes. You should handle the animal cautiously because they host some diseases like rabies, salmonella and a bacterium known to cause leprosy. You can use protective clothes and gloves to remove it from the yard. ..." (taken from http://getridofarmadillos.com/howtotrap.html)
