Asking for fingers crossed!

My husband found this clock at our town swap shop. It is 41" long. Is made of walnut and weighs 40 lbs, the weights alone weigh 14 lbs. The only space available (we have very full walls) is the space beside the china cabinet. Since this is an old house there is no regularity in spacing of studs and there is not one in this space. My husband got a plate thing to hang the clock through that allows more fastening places. He is now doing a test "hang" by hanging a wood carrier filled with dumb bells weighing more than the clock. If the wall crumbles that will be bad but it won't break the clock. Anyone think of anything we have missed?

Looks like its meant to stand on its feet, why not just get a little table for next to your china cabinet and put it on it.

No room in your hallway or LR? Beautiful piece.

My husband is an artist and we have small rooms. We also collect art we have literally 100's of pieces. We have 18 works on our stair wall alone and these are just female heads! The clock is up and he is tinkering with keeping it straight.

This is lovely. I would check the floor, first, to see if it is level. If it is NOT - then insert a cardboard under the edge that is not level., or a shim. I hope this helps you, have a lovely day, J.
