I save the fully dried seeds by gathering them and putting them in small plastic bags. Sometimes I hang the entire plant upside down for awhile to be certain they are absolutely dry, before gathering the seeds.

I would avoid placing the seeds in plastic. They can become moldy. They can also sprout. I let mine sit on a dry paper towel for a few weeks, with the plant name written on the paper towel. . Then roll the paper towel up and place in a paper envelope. I save the envelopes that come in the mail for free offers etc. Then be sure to write what you have on the envelope. Then place in a (relatively) cool, dry, and dark place until spring. I place my envelopes in a shoe box. Just be aware that you may or may not get an exact duplicate of the original plant. Heirloom plants assure an exact copy - others it may be a cousin. But that is ok too!
