Hurricane Irma blew into the sliding door track and now the icon drapes have a brown water stain about 4" above the bottom of the drapes. Any suggestions ?

I had the same trouble. Mine were sheers, not full drapery. Anyway, threw them in washer with 1/2 normal amount of tide, added 1/2 cup of oxyclean. Ran normal cycle, they came out perfect.

What is the fabric content of the drapes? Is there any label anywhere showing if they are washable or not?

  • Are they washable or dry clean only?

I was going to suggest soaking in Oxyclean. We had a fire and some of our belongings ended up with horrible smell and discoloration from smoke. I ultimately soaked my items in Oxyclean. Those that didn't come clean, I figured, what the heck, they were already ruined, so I got creative. I then soaked the items in hot water in which powdered dishwasher soap and ammonia were mixed, after which I washed normally. I lost very little clothing and furnishings using this method.

Good luck. I hope you will be on your feet very quickly.

Since this fabric was exposed to sewage in water, you need to disinfect it... If the fabric was washable I would use some Lysol and put 1/2c 20 Mule Team Laundry Borax in the water, and follow-up with 1c of vinegar in the rinse to prevent mold growth. You could also pretreat the stain line with some Oxyi-clean laundry spray..
