i used one piece of an old bi-fold door. Remove all hardware, measure width & depth, add 2-4 inches to this measurement. This will be the size of your foam & your fabric will add another 2 inches all around to cover foam. Cut your desired foam type to this measurement, brush front of board with white glue & center on foam slab, press firmly onto foam; set aside to dry for 5 min. or so. Place your fabric face down, then place foam side down on fabric. Using staple gun fasten foam to one side by pulling foam to backside & staple. Do corners last, folding to fit & staple. Do exactly the same with fabric making sure not to stretch too tight or fabric will pull sideways& off grain. You can use ribbon, buttons, lace or woven edging to decorate front.

One of the cheapest is to find a rug you like and nail or tack it on the wall above your bed like a tapestry. You don't need to put it on or in a frame, but you could.

Another idea is to buy the cheapest painting (or two) in a frame the right size at a thrift/junk store. Clean it up, paint the frame one color, and cover the print with another. Paint something simple in the middle, using the frame color to save even more. Your name, a favorite poster, a stick figure with an attitude, anything big and bold. A $1 bottle of latex paint in the craft dept. should paint the whole frame. Have fun!😇

You can also hang a quilt or tablecloth (if you don't need the padding).

I will be making one with acoustic tile/ foam board, batting and a curtain panel.

Cheap? Drape a nice sheet or bed cover. on the wall with some tie backs. Think prince or princess.
