Summer Gardens In Wisconsin

We are wistfully longing for summer once again as we hunker down through another possible blizzard. Our front porch has been taken hostage by frozen tundra. We had an area in the front yard that had become an unforeseen mud pit after construction of our home was complete. After brainstorming what to do with it we came up with a solution - turn it into a lovely cobblestone porch. It was a great choice. We enjoy three seasons of family fun and visits with neighbors on our front porch. I shared photos of my front porch with my winter floral arrangements last December. Here are photos of the front porch with the summer gardens. I use the garden arch as the focal point for floral designs for every season. I love my garden arch because it's so versatile and adds nice design elements. Oh to have my beautiful Morning Glories on the front porch right now!
Our neighbors enjoy the colorful gardens as they pass by.
We built the cobblestone porch to fill in a mud pit that resulted after the driveway was put in.
The garden arch is the focal point of the front porch where I do floral arrangements for each seasons.
These Morning Glories were exquisite!
Summer brings the cone flowers and butterflies.
Swallow tail butterflies come in such a variety of colors and sizes.
This is the butterfly garden planted with varieties of flowers that attract them.
The butterfly garden fills our yard with butterflies in the summer!
Monarch Butterflies come at the end of summer. During this photos session I counted around a dozen.
