I love to dress in an unique way and I secretly think my technical devises share that love of mine 😉, so I make them custom sleeves to protect them from scratches, dust and spills.

As I already crocheted a simple sleeve for my phone in a lovely petrol color, I figured it's time to try something different for my new tablet:
A detailed list of supplies is on my blog.
I have a big stash of felt leftovers from previous projects and thread in all the colors. I think it is fun to get creative with what you have and it saves a whole lot of money, too!
I documented this project with a whole lot of photos. Too much really to put them all in this post. If you're interested in the full tutorial, simply hop on over to my blog  Craftify My Love.  STEP 1 - prepare felt for sewing: Take your tablets measurements and cut two pieces of felt to size. Don't forget to add at least 0,2 inches of seam allowance on three sides. If you want, you can mark and prepunch the holes so the hand stitching part will be easier (and probably more even) later.
STEP 2 - sew your tablet sleeve together: Using a contrasting embroidery thread, stitch the two pieces of felt together. Don't forget to leave one side open. And basically now you have made a tablet sleeve. But you'll have to admit, it's rather plain. So follow the next couple steps if you want to decorate your tablet sleeve with some darling felt flowers...
STEP 3 - make felt flowers and leaves: Find felt in contrasting colors, that work well with your tablet sleeve. I used a thinner felt for the flowers, as this makes creating them much easier. You can choose between various flower shapes. Plum little roundish ones, elegant long pointy petals, let your imagination run free! Cut your petals - I recommend choosing between 4 and 6 petals for each flower. Stitch loosely on the lower border with a contrasting thread and push the petals together. Fix the flowers shape with a firm knot. If you want you can hand stitch some details to your felt flowers. I think that makes them look even nicer! Same with the leaves of course.
STEP 4 - decorate your tablet sleeve: Arrange your felt flowers and foliage on the tablet sleeve to your liking. Now bring out your hot glue gun and glue them into place. You might want to insert a piece of cardboard into the sleeve, to prevent it from gluing together. Also, work carefully: Hot glue is really really hot! (I talk from experience 🙄)
And you're DONE! Now step back and admire your work! For more information and many other tutorials simply hop on over to my blog.
