    If it is not to hot to add additional stress on the plants you can do it now

    It is best to trim as soon as you recognize the damage. If you have to cut off a limb; you can purchase a paste to seal the 'wound' so that no insects will take advantage of the fresh cut. Make certain you balance the tree when trimming so that all branches remaining are not all on one side. Bushes are easier - they will just get bushier on their regrowth (after pruning).

    It's always okay to remove broken or dead branches. Probably best to wait for reshaping of the live branches until early Spring.
