To create something special for my daughter’s back-to-school transition, I decided to make a DIY Notebook with a Heart-Shaped Slime Pocket. This fun craft took only about an hour to put together and she was even able to help me along the way. This notebook will definitely make sure my daughter is totally cool for school.
So here’s how to get started with this project. Grab a black & white composition notebook. Cut out the shape of a heart from a piece of white paper. Place the heart on the front cover of the notebook. Trace the outline of the heart. Using a utility knife and a pair of scissors, cut out the heart shape from the front cover of the notebook.
Now, it’s time to add a little color to the front of the notebook. I used a roll of decorative duct tape to cover the front of the notebook. Again, I used a utility knife to cut out the heart shape on the front cover.
Let’s make the slime now. Add one small bottle white school glue to a plastic cup. Add a few drops of red food coloring and some chunky gold glitter. Stir together until uniform throughout. Add a few teaspoons of contact lens solution until the mixture comes together like slime. Note that this slime is a lot of fun to play with- I may have taken a break to play with this for a bit before moving on.
Now place the slime inside a zippered plastic bag and use clear shipping tape to attach it to the inside front cover of the notebook. For more details and pictures, please visit the blog post below.
