Might want to try a third time. Sorry, we are all here to help when we know what you need.
Most citrus fruit trees need a sunny location (6-8 hours of sunlight ) I have a small (Dwarf) lemon tree. Planted deep enough to cover the roots and at least a 12 inch wider diameter than the container that the tree was grown in. Also we put a 3" wide plastic pipe into the ground with at least 3 feet into the hole and 1ft. above the ground to deep water it twice a week in summer and once a week in the winter if there is no rain .
I lived in Florida, Tampa, for 20 years. I bought three trees from a nursery, one very early season, one mid and one late, and planted per the nursery instructions. I had fresh off the tree not quite year round. On those very rare occasion of predicted frost, I purchased 3 parachutes from the Army Navy store, rigged them over the tree, and put 3 100 watt light bulbs evenly around. Worked perfectly.
