Desk Makeover

This desk was a solid heavy piece in great condition other than the veneer top. The top was in horrible condition. At first I thought I would just be able to repair the top but once I got started there wasn't a chance of repair. So I took it off. Underneath was a solid slab of wood! Happy surprise for me! This was a very easy project just a little time consuming. Added bonus...I had everything I needed to make this happen without spending a dime.
Desk before & after!
This is the first picture I took, I had already started removing the veneer top.
Lots of work getting all of this off.
Finally, it was all off and sanded.
One coat of primer.
Originally the plan was to paint the entire desk gray. Once I had the first coat of paint on the top and primer on the bottom I decided I wanted the top gray and the bottom white.
I decided to go with Gold for the drawer pulls and feet. (Krylon 18kt gold spray paint)
