Insulating and attic with pot lights

I've heard that you have to cover or protect your recessed pot lights when you're insulating your attic. What's the best solution to work around that?

Check your local building codes. I would have a consult with a local licensed electrician too. If improperly installed you could void your homeowners policy.
what about replacing the current bulbs with the screw in led bulb that covers the whole can. They're currently selling them at Costco. Wouldn't the temp of the can go down considerable and therefore no fire hazard?
