My sister had pale pink wppl carpet in the hours that they used
RIT Dye in Charcoal to die a gorgeous gray carpet because they didn't want to replace. It turned out beautiful and kept the dye thru multiple cleanings til they actually replaced the carpet.
I remember my mom dying our beige living room carpet to dark brown using liquid RIT Dye, and it turned out beautifully. I recall her mixing up the dye in a bucket using a sponge mop to put the dye down. The floor under the area rug was tile (as was normal during that time period); I wouldn't recommend doing it on a wooden/laminate floor!
