For the longest time I have wanted to create some rustic benches, the perfect paint for raw wood is milk paint. So once I finally was able to have my husband build me some raw wooden benches in 4 designs I got busy painting them, I chose Old Fashioned Milk Paint for all 4 benches

here are 3 of the benches, everyone is unique in length and front details but these 3 have same side notches
this is buttermilk milk paint over the shades of green, once dry they are power sanded to reveal the multiple colors
then 3-4 coats of clear poly are applied for durability, 2 actually were done in outdoor poly as were custom ordered for a deck

then black wax is added for extra aging and detailing
this one is in snow white, pitch black and slate
the colors are crisp and clean

You don't really talk about your process. Were the colors dry-brushed onto each other? I love the look, would just like a few more details.

I love the ocean bench - so beachy. Where did you find your Buddha? I have a spot in my garden screaming his name!

Nice paint jobs. Are tthere more than three? Some of these benches look like they have different legs
