Use brand tap to clean surfaces well, found in paint Dept, then use brand kilz on cabinets and counters. Kilz is a primer that doesn't allow bleed thru and sticks to any surface so when painted the paint stays. Used this on my kitchen cabinets by recommendation of painter over 50 years. Worked remarkably we well!

You have to buy a special paint from the hardware store. Its like an undercoat then put the top coat on
