Can I paint shade cloth with chalk paint?

I was told that chalk paint works very well I have heard that you can paint a lounge with chalk paint, spray bottle with water lightly and the start painting your lounge you have to dilute the paint a little, then when it drys because there will be some brush strokes you get some very fine sand paper then wipe the dust off.

I've used spray paint for my lounge chairs. I painted them 2 years ago and they sit in the Texas sun all year long with no fading. They were stiff for a short time but they have loosened up and are comfortable to sit/lay on.
