You could have raised garden beds. They can be made as high as you need for comfort. Another idea would be to garden in pots on a table. A third would be to get a gardening stool with rollers on the legs. Then you'd only have to get up and down once.

You can scale it down and maybe do container gardening, planting just the favorite things you grow. That would allow you to have them higher if kneeling/bending was an issue.

Materials are affordable and the designs are simple and completely customizable. They can be as tall as you'd like (whether you want to sit in a chair at the garden or be level with your waist as you stand) by cutting the legs to size. The bed itself can be as deep as you'd need.

You can also add a protective cage with doors with scrap wood, chicken wire, and a few cheap hinges.

You could also have raised beds made out of old furniture (dressers, bathtubs, tables)

I hear you! I have a bad back, arthritis in my feet, right knee and hip. Kneeling is not an option anymore. If at all possible, build raised beds. Or have someone build for you. Also do lots of pots - will need to water more as the pots dry out faster.

With 2 new knees in the past 18 months, I am not allowed to kneel. My husband purchased a wheeled garden for me. It has a swill tractor seat and I find it amazing to work from. My advice is start gardening in pots or have raised beds.

Try "raised bed gardening". Build from pressure treated wood start small ,say 3`X6` # 3` tall. make the top wider so you can sit on it, if you are planting vegetables I would construct from cedar, (no chemicals_ hope this helps
