Depends on what type of paint was applied, Latex doesn't mix well with some urethane,, There is also a water based urethane too.. Check with paint dept at lowes or home depot

Is the area exposed to the elements all year? What type of paint was used and was the area properly prepped prior to painting? Depending on whether you used latex or oil based paint, it will determine the proper seal coating. Check your paint can first then ask the specialists at Lowes, HD, or Sherwin Williams. Best of luck.

ABR720, Hello :) I am a senior too and I know what an inconvenience maintenance can be in so many ways financially, physically, AND socially. In most cases I would be yelling YES YES! BUT not in this situation exactly.

That depends mostly on whether or not you used an EXTERIOR paint for your shower (and common sense tells me you have, since we both know exterior paint is the best paint to use on things that are outside LOL). MOST regular paints are okay outside too for awhile IF they aren't exposed to etreme conditions. I would call being a shower outdoors an extreme condition ;) Here is a link I found that may suitably answer your question. After reading about a dozen other articles, I would say THIS ONE succinctly addresses condenses all the other information I ofund in other articles. I am cetain you will be able to come to the decision that is right for YOU after your read this. :) Good Luck ABR720, and thank you so much for coming to HOMETALK for answers :)
