I just happened to watch a video on this yesterday and it is a bit of a process. I suggest that you go to youtube.com and search "grow mango from seed". It will give you numerous videos of varying lengths that you can watch. Watch one or several and find the technique that would work best for you.

Remove as much of the flesh from the pit as possible and take a sharp knife and cut into shell of the pit to remove the seed. Place the seed in a paper towel and moisten the towel. At this point you can put it into a plastic bag and keep it in a cool, dark place. After three days, check it and if its got roots, plant in a coco-peat mixture, submerging the roots, but not the whole seed. Leave a bit of the top poking out. Water thoroughly and wait. After a little over a week, you should get a sprout coming up out of the seed.

Mangos need warmth, at least 70 degrees to thrive.

wrap the seed in a moist paper towel and keep it in a plastic container with a loose lid so that there is some air flow. keep it slightly moist until the hard outer shell cracks and a sprout comes out. then plant. it will need to be kept in tropical climate - no freezes or it will die.
