This is beautiful. I've heard about stenciling in place of wallpaper and I'm considering doing this in my guest bathroom. Is it difficult? I consider myself pretty handy and artistic but sometimes combining the two can be disastrous! If I can learn to do this, I would be so stencil-happy!

This is not my post but I think I'm qualified to reply... I love the idea of stenciling as opposed to wallpapering, but I will say this... If you have an attention span issue as I do, you may not find this to be rewarding. It's tedious! I like to see instant results and if you want this to turn out well with crisp edges, it takes time and patience (something I don't have!).

However, you also need time and patience to apply wallpaper as well! You see a lot of videos out there where people are applying, peel and stick wallpaper, they make it look sooooo easy! It's not! You have to line that up perfectly the first time or pull it off and try it again, hoping that you're not losing the stickiness or bending / creasing that wallpaper. Stenciling is much cheaper than wallpaper, much much cheaper! And you have the ability to change colors, so it's a lot more flexible in that respect. This post only used one color for the stencil, which makes it much easier than using multiple colors.

I say go for it, if you screw it up, you can always paint over it!
