Someone scraped our fence with a sharp object. How is the best way to

    Power washers can certainly damage the fence if you don't know what your doing.... put it on the lowest setting and practice on scrap wood. Stain will accent the scratch so pick a couple shades lighter.

    You can fill the scratches in with wood putty. Let it dry and sand to blend it in. You do have to be careful with power washing wood. I have damaged some myself having it set too high. I would test it out first so you can get the feel for it. If you decide to stain it usually has to be redone every 4-5 years depending on how much sun it gets, and how hard of a winter you have.
