Not quite sure of the question but in case you want to add twinkle lights to a canvas(?) here is how I would go about this:

Use the mini twinkle lights and create small slits in the canvas (assuming it's an open back canvas) from the back of the canvas and slip one of the lights through, continue to do this as many times as you would like. Tape down the wire behind the canvas so nothing moves around. Use an extension cable if needed and plug into a wall outlet. Then, look for ways to conceal the cables depending on where it's located etc.

Please consider the age and value of the canvas along with the ability to replace it, should your project go awry along the way. I have seen paintings which are lighted with tiny lights which have nominal value and are pleasing to view. However, at the same time, others have not been well done and the process has even decreased any value the painting might have had. Just suggesting you proceed with caution. Good luck.

The tiny LED ones are lightweight, bright and cheap. Any craft store has them. They use batteries but take very little power so the batteries last a long time.
