I have an amaryllis that is about 20 yrs old.

It's a beautiful plant when it blooms. The flowers are huge! It grows long blades which don't last very long. I'd like from the diy community some ideas to support them and keep them longer than a few days. Thank you in advance!

Lowe's has plant loops you can put around them. There also are wire forms that allow the plants to grow up through them for support.

About 15 years ago I planted an amaryllis in an outside planter. Each year the bulbs have grown and divided. After they bloom they give lots of seeds which have propagated and have given me many new plants. I now give them away or plant bulbs in new pots to give for Christmas gifts. I leave the blades alone as (my understanding is) they give strength to the bulbs. I now have Amaryllis all over my place. I can put a thin stake near the bulb and tie the blades up with chenille pipe cleaners to control them if I want.
