Can I transplant perennials in the first week of November in NYS

I am moving and want to take some special perennials with me from my garden. Won't own the new place until Nov. 1st. Can I transplant then to the new garden.
i live in New York State in the Hudson Valley.

You should be able to transplant safely any time until the ground freezes too hard. Replant as soon as possible after digging; keep exposed roots moist and covered in the meantime. Water thoroughly after replanting, and regularly throughout the fall. Feed with a good time-release fertilizer late winter.
I would contact the owners of the place you are purchasing to ask if you could plant them prior to taking possession of your new home, even if you put them in an unobtrusive spot until they can be moved to their permanent home in the spring.
