how can I make an older apt balcony screen door look new again? The door adjuster is all rusted...etc it's just a real eyesore.

Can you paint it, or wash it? Take the screen and spray it outside, make it any color you want. Get some new hardware for the door. Good Luck!

Hello Meadsj59 This is an old trick I learned from my Dad YEARS ago: Adjust the door so it is all the way open (it will be open for at least a few hours, and maybe overnight). Soak a rag with white vinegar and wrap it around the rusty part and walk away for a few hours, come back and check it, rub if need be with your rag. If it's not all gone, repeat ;) It WILL work :) Thanks for using HOMETALK for answers!

Replacing the screen itself is easy. measure more than you need so you have enough to work with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0IJhQlHhNE. When you go to pick it out you will have various types to choose from. That alone can update a door. if you can't paint the door, use scrubbing bubbles on it to clean it. We did our awnings and they turned 3 shades whiter just getting the dirt off.
