Repair a worn blemish on a antique silver plate teapot.

I bought a silver plate antique tea pot on E-bay. When I polished it up there were a couple of spots were the silver plate had worn off. I was thinking of silver leaf from the craft store. Has anyone repaired this kind of flaw themselves?

Silver leaf will work, but it will come off when you wash the teapot.

silver plating is electrically done. You will need to find a professional.

Make sure whatever you do to any antique, that you do not decrease the value of the antique. Sometimes it is better to leave it alone. In the case of your teapot, it needs to be refinished professionally only due to the process used.

Thanks, but I was looking for a temporary solution till I could afford to do it properly. The teapot was $32.53 most of which was shipping. Even though it wasn't as expensive as others, I love it just as much. And wouldn't want to permanently damage it.

Use it for cut flowers arranging them so the blemish doesn't show.

Place the blemish side towards the wall....
