How should plants be prepared before moving them into the greenhouse?

I have three porches full of plants that will be moved into the greenhouse before cold weather arrives and I need suggestions for preparing them. Is there a general use spray that could safely be used to prevent bug infestations? Should they be washed with soap and water?

I had to do the same thing, so I mixed up a solution of mild dish detergent with a little hot pepper juice ( made by blending hot peppers with water and staining ) then added this to the detergent solution and sprayed my plants a day before placing in the greenhouse.
