If the furniture is real wood, once you paint it, it is difficult but not impossible to go back to the wood look. Chalk paint has a slight texture, so you might not get the finish you expect. I love it, but it is not for smooth high gloss. Homemade chalk paint may have more lumps and need to be stirred more often than professional chalk paint or regular latex paint. I still use chalk paint for many purposes. Best wishes π

In buying stuff in my experience, chalk paint comes off easy. You can't dust the stuff painted in chalk paint with wet rags.
