Easy
An empty tissue box is the perfect container to hold a spool of ribbon, making it easier to unwind when decorating packages and making bows.
Supplies
An empty tissue box and roll of $1 contact paper from Dollar Tree was all I needed. While the decoration on the existing tissue box was adequate, I wanted to give it a more finished look.
Covering the Box
Wrapping the contact paper around the outside including the box opening, the transformation begins.
Cut the Opening
Using a single edge razor blade, I cut the contact paper to display the original opening.
Completing Contact Paper
Then I wrapped the other side of the box and trimmed excess with the razor blade.
Weights Help
Adding glass stones that I had on hand gave it the necessary weight to keep the box from moving when pulling out the ribbon. Stones, beans or anything small and heavy will work.
Let the Wrapping Begin
Add a spool of ribbon and you're ready to go. No more chasing the ribbon spool.
More Uses
The nice thing about this design is that it can be a multi-purpose container. Use it for pencils, yarn, makeup brushes, silverware holder for buffet or picnic table, straw holder, remote control keeper. The contact paper gives it a finished look and keeps the box cleaner and drier.
